20 points was the request made by myself at the start of the day, and a solid looking team did not disappoint.
Drinkwater tore through the top order picking up MOTM with fine figures of 6 for 31, late swing costing the opposition dearly. I am a big believer in hunting in pairs, and Drinkwaters fine display of swing bowling was supported very well by the tight lines of Laughton. Unlucky not to pick up more, but again fine figures of 2 for 50.
Having picked up maximum points in the field, it was over to the young openers Carr (51*) & Danby (40) to set out our stall early doors, and avoid the perils of complacency that often catch teams out when chasing a small total. They too did not disappoint, a first wicket stand of 90 meant there was no way back for the opposition.
Overall an excellent team performance, 2 weeks on the bounce now picking up maximum points. The skippers and the club cannot ask for anymore. Well done lads.
PS Any opening bowler, caught opening the innings with a chewed ball that they have found in a dogs mouth shall be shot!!!!
