Match Report

Right first game of the season in front of a packed clumber park

We lost the toss and got put in, Paul todd and Dave hedge opened and both got going, todd first to fall for 28, and hedge for 16.

Max came to the crease with plenty of time to get settled, hit a few good strokes and slashed at a wide one and got caught behind, departing for 11.

Andy Laughton and Glenn Formoy had the largest partnership at the crease,  Laughton getting 46, and Glenn 23, once Laughton was out the last 5 wickets fell for 13 runs which gave us a total of 151, not great but OK.

Onto the bowling.

Each bowler got hit for a fair amount of runs and didnt trouble the batsmen too much, phil z  brought about the best figures with 2 for 21 off 8 overs (5 being maiden overs) so very tight bowling.

Andy Laughton got 1 wicket, steve milner taking a very difficult catch and making it look erm .... difficult. Hedgey also chipped in with a wicket, but with a total of only 4 wickets taken, and their opening batsman still being there after our onslaught it wasnt looking good.

Their batsman realising he needed 6 for his 100 duely despatched a length ball over long off, celebrated his 100 and also the winning runs to take them to 157 for 4 and put a loss in our book ..... if i'd have remember to take it with me (thanks rob)

All in all not a bad game but definate improvements to be made, bring on next week.
